From the headlines: Amazon Gives BookScan to Authors!

"Just in time for Christmas, Amazon may be turning authors into an army of booksellers!" --LA TIMES

We're extremely excited to see this announcement from Amazon which gives authors who use Amazon's "Author Central", the site's free author portal, the ability to see book sales information using BookScan. Since authors (and their agents) receive Publisher royalty statements each six-month period, authors can now see their book sales in a much more timely system to more effectively target and track their promotion/publicity plans.

Knowledge is power and this move to empower authors is some of the best news of the year! Click here to read more, and let us know how you'll use in the new year to help sell more books!

"Mock" Pura Belpre Awards 2010 announced

The Pura Belpré Award is presented by REFORMA and the Association for Library Services to Children (ALSC). This annual award recognizes excellence in the areas of literary merit and outstanding illustration in books for children and young adults by authors and illustrators who identify themselves as Latino.

The Heartland Chapter of REFORMA recently gathered their list of books they felt would make the list---and they pride themselves on always including the actual winners. Here are their "Mock "Pura Belpré Award Results.

We are so excited to see several of our Full Circle Literary authors and friends included in this list! The actual winners will be announced by the American Library Association at their annual Midwinter Conference, January 7-11, 2011, in San Diego. Good luck to all!:
