Book reviewers and media organizations have begun to roll out their traditional "best of the year" lists, and Reyna Grande's memoir, which has already received wide critical acclaim, and praise from the likes of Pulitzer Prize winner Sonia Nazario and Hector Tobar from the LA Times, has made it into some of these lists. Below, a quick roundup:
The Christian Science Monitor's Best Books of 2012 (non-fiction) says the book "puts a human face on a political issue."
Librarians and educators take note: School Library Journal has included THE DISTANCE BETWEEN US among its Best Adult Books 4 Teens, 2012 (non-fiction).

If you are in NY on December 11th, you can meet Reyna and have her sign your copy of the book at the Irish Arts Center.
Or you can attend one of the upcoming stops on her tour, including the American Library Association (ALA) Midwinter Conference in January.
